JEFFERSON – Ruth Swink Russell, 87, formerly of Thomaston, died Friday, February 6, 2015, in Jefferson.
Mrs. Russell was born on April 30, 1927 in Pelham, Ga., the daughter of the late Oscar Leland and Anna Juanith Swink. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Luther Russell. She worked as a lunchroom lady at Atwater School and was the first school bus driver in Upson County.
Survivors include daughters, Shelia (Raymond) Phillips, Jefferson, and LaRose (Buck) Jones, Decatur; son, Donnie (Elaine) Russell, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Kim (Mark) Flanzer, and Rod (Lisa) Jones; and great-grandchildren, Ella, Koen, and Raya Phillips; Zoe, Sam and Ayla Flanzer, and Cole Jones.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 8, in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
