‘Vinny’ Farley (02-11-15)

JEFFERSON – Vincent Henry “Vinny” Farley, Jr., 74, formerly of Danvers, Mass., died Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015, following a brief illness.

He was the loving husband of Nancy Bezemes-Farley.

Born in Cambridge, Mass. on August 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Marie and Vincent Farley. He was raised and educated in East Boston and Danvers and relocated to Georgia with his family in 2007. For 35 years, Vinny was employed with the Danvers Police Department and retired as an acting lieutenant. He served in the National Guard for six years. Mr. Farley was preceded in death by a son, Seth Farley.

He was a practical joker who enjoyed making other laugh. He enjoyed traveling and cooking. He especially enjoyed attending his son’s many sporting events and being his biggest fan.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four children, Dawn Cobak and her husband, Jay of Topsfield, Mass., Gwen Husson and her husband Kevin, Hampton, N.H., Vanessa Farley and Vincent Farley III, both of Jefferson; his beautiful grandchildren, Piper, Jake, Leila, and Seth; brother, Kevin Farley and his wife Anne, Danvers, Mass.; two sisters, Janet Weafer and her husband Kenneth Weafer, Beverly, Mass. and Mary Ann Lyons, Salem, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, February 16, in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers, Mass.

C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square, was in charge of arrangements.
