COMMERCE – Clay Ronald Seymour passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
Clay, age 42, was born in Athens, on March 7, 1972. He grew up in Commerce. He graduated from Commerce High School and the University of Georgia. He successfully worked with the Georgia Department of Banking in Savannah followed by a distinguished career in politics and fundraising while residing in Atlanta. He studied the Stanislavski-Strasberg Acting Method at Dorsey Studios and Theater. Clay had a number of charitable interests; he enjoyed the arts, traveling, nature, and people.
Survivors include his parents, Ronnie and Phyllis Langston Seymour, Commerce; grandmother, Louise Crumley Seymour, Commerce; sister and brother-in-law, Timothy and Dayna Williams, Sharpsburg; and nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, Caroline, Harrison, Benjamin, Anne, and Jackson.
Clay and his gentle spirit, clever humor, fun-loving nature, caring heart, insightful sensitivity, unwavering courage, remarkable faith, and winsome influence reached out personably touching many lives in the numerous capacities he worked and served. He was a special son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, colleague, advocate, and friend- loving and well-loved- who leaves an indelible mark. He will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 2 p.m., at Madison Street Baptist Church in Commerce with the Revs. Larry Montgomery and Gerry Wiley officiating. The family will receive friends at Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, on Friday, March 6, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the evening.
