HOMER – Jessie D. Wade, 81 passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Banks County on August 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Solmon and Ida Belle Dodd Wade. Mr. Wade was a former crew leader at Temple-Inland and also a bus monitor for Banks County Schools. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Mr. Wade was also preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Wade; brothers, Olin, Davidson, and James “Jimmy” Wade; and sisters, Annie Lee Teague and Vera McQueen.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eloise Parson Wade, Homer; sons, David Wade, Banks County, and Danny Wade, Bowman; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Jean Wade and Derek and Lisa Wade, all of Homer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva and Marty Wade, Gainesville, Lois and M.L. Grindle, Lula and Velina and Grady White, Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Mary Davidson, Demorest Irene and Gerald Griggs, Anderson, S.C., Bonnie and Eddie Marchbanks, Clarkesville, Vickie Thomas, Woodstock, Debbie and Walter David, Homer, and Mary Parson, Banks County; brothers-in-law, Bud McQueen, Gainesville, and Jack Parson, Warner Robins; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 2, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. Lamar Purcell and James Duncan officiating. Interment was in the Temple Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, Rabun County DAV Chapter #15 and Georgia National Guard Funeral Honors.
