JEFFERSON – Roy Bobby Looney, 74, entered into rest Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
Mr. Looney was born in Jefferson, the son of the late Robert Bobby Looney and Emma Shannon Looney. He was a retired carpenter with the University of Georgia and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Looney was preceded in death by his wife, Linda “Poochie” Howington Looney.
Survivors include daughters, Angie Looney Burgess and her husband Perry, Jefferson, and Dora Looney Jarrard and her husband Wayne, Jefferson; son, Jeffrey Roy Looney and his wife Tracie, Jefferson; sisters, Helen Anderson, Atlanta, and Alice Jackson and Peggy Hix, both of Jefferson; brother, Troy Daniel Looney, Jefferson; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, from the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Revs. Johnny Ray and Charles Reese officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Jesse Looney, Jeremiah Dills, Josiah Burgess, Jordan Jarrard, Jentzen Jarrard, and Jonathan Gary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11.
