Tom Finch (9-9-12)

WINDER – Tom Finch, 82, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012.

A native of Spring Hope, N.C., he was the son of the late Craven Buddy and Eula Estelle Strickland Finch. Mr. Finch was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Era Conflict. He was a retired manager with Equifax, formerly Retail Credit Company. Mr. Finch was a member of The Winder First Baptist Church and was a wonderful, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. Tom faithfully served the Lord Jesus and led his family to love the Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Edna L. Finch, Winder; children, Thomas L. Finch, Panama City, Fla., Carol Bowlin, Naples, Fla., Greg Finch, Statesboro, and Brian Finch, Cumming; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Cooper, Spring Hope, N.C., and the Rev. Jack Finch, Lynchburg, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 13, from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. L. T. Everett and John Talley officiating. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 12:30 p.m. with military honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Finch requested that donations be made to the Creaven Buddy Finch Foundations, 138 Freemoor Dr., Poquoson, VA. 23662.
