COMER – Virginia Pauline Johnson Russell, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the St. Mary’s Hospice House in Bogart.
Mrs. Russell was born in Lexington on March 8, 1940, the daughter of the late James Maryland Johnson, Sr. and Pauline Dora Gabriel. She was a retired lunchroom worker having worked with the Madison County School system. She was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Russell; daughters, Anna Marie Woods, Comer, and Patricia R. Akins, Danielsville; grandchildren, Ryan Woods, Katie Akins, Tyler Woods, and Emily Akins; brother, James Johnson, Jr., Danielsville; sisters, Rachel Coker, Comer, Ann Brooks, Danielsville, Carol Allen, Danielsville, Linda Hunnius, Virginia, and Mary Costa, Colbert.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 3, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Talmadge Ethridge and David Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Hull. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. The family is at their respective homes.
