NICHOLSON – Christopher Augustine “Chris” Fox, 79 entered into rest Saturday, April 4, 2015.
Mr. Fox was born in Stamford, Conn., the son of the late Christopher A. and Dorothea Keller Fox. Mr. Fox was a member of St. Catherine’s Laboure Catholic Church, where he was a Lector, a Eucharist Minister, a caseworker for St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Parish Council, performed communion to home bound, and taught Religious Education. Mr. Fox was retired president and owner of the Hotel Furnishings Group. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Fox; and a son, Christopher A. Fox III.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara M. Fox, Nicholson; son, Matthew Fox, Flowery Branch; stepdaughter, Karen Deringer and her husband Josh, Peachtree Corners; stepson, Peter Marks and his wife Erin, Buford; brother, Mark Fox, Avon, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, from St. Catherines Laboure’ Catholic Church. Father Vincent Sullivan and Deacon John Burke will be the celebrants with cremation to follow the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the funeral home concluding with a prayer service. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Matthew Fox, Josh Deringer, Peter Marks, Pete Koscher, Mark Fox, and Steve Matthews.
