DANIELSVILLE – Mama has fought a good fight. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Mary Alice Freeman Fowler, 81, wife of the late Winfred Fowler, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Brown Health and Rehabilitation in Royston.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Canon, Ga. on January 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Lawrence Freeman and Mae Belle Campbell Freeman. She was a seamstress having worked for Georgia Sportswear and a member of the New Hope Worship Center. Mrs. Fowler was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by brothers, Henry, Arthur, and Paul Freeman; and a sister, Sara Barton.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Robin Fowler, Colbert, Eddy Ward Fowler, Danielsville, and Timothy Earl Fowler, Danielsville; grandchildren, Blake Fowler, Evan Fowler, Haley Fowler, Autumn (Sean) McGuire, Myles Fowler, and Logan Fowler; great-grandson, Ryan McGuire; brother, Doyle Freeman, Carnesville; and sisters, Annie Thomas, Danielsville, and Edna Dalton, Danielsville.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at the New Hope Worship Center in Danielsville, with the Revs. David Carey, Glenn Lyles, Mike Spence, and Tim Beasley officiating. Mrs. Fowler will be placed in the church at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Fowler, Earl James, Jr., Myles Fowler, Tommy Cleveland, Sean McGuire, Terry Dalton, Jeff Dalton, and Zeb Osley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blake and Evan Fowler.
The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. The family is at the home.
