HOSCHTON – Mary Aikens Franklin, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late James Edward Aikens and Elsie Blackwell Aikens. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville, worked for Standard Coosa, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Franklin, Hoschton; son and daughter-in-law, Lucky and Sandra Franklin, Hoschton; grandsons, Tim (Marie) Franklin, Commerce, and Tracy Franklin, Cleveland; granddaughters, Courtney (Alex) Yun, Hoschton, Payden Franklin, Hoschton, and Melissa (Allen) Holland, Commerce; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Shiflett officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson with Johnny Brookshire, Tim Franklin, Tracy Franklin, Billy Pruitt, Alex Yun, and Andy Howington honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home.
