WINDER – Grant L. Dooley, , Passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015.
He was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class. Grant was a pharmacist for Jefferson Drugs and earned his bachelors of science degree in pharmacy from The University of Georgia and continued to be a huge Georgia Bulldog fan. Grant loved his community and had been a past member of the J. C.’s and was a square dance caller for The Jug Tavern Squares and occasionally the Classic City Squares. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Dorothy Hendrix Dooley.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Phyllis H. Dooley, Winder; two daughters, Jennifer Twitty (John) and Maurnie Thomson, both of Winder; two sisters, Janice Medlock (Arnold), Columbia, S.C .,and Lynn Powell, Woodstock; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Joshua, Michael, Jacob, Emma, and Rebecca; and one niece and one nephew.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Tippens officiating.
