COMMERCE – Geneva McElroy, 83, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. McElroy was born in Madison County, the daughter of the late James and Mamie Satterfield McGee, Sr. She was a member of Rogers Baptist Church and was a retired beautician. Mrs. McElroy also helped with the Rogers Baptist Church Food Bank. Mrs. McElroy was preceded in death by her husband, James Alton McElroy.
Survivors include sons, Buddy A. McElroy and Ricky O. McElroy, both of Commerce; sisters, Gail Grogon, Bogart, and Lucy Phillips, Royston; brothers, Freddy McGee and Paul McGee, both of Danielsville, and James McGee, Ila; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Hanley officiating. Interment will follow in Rogers Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rogers Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
