DANIELSVILLE – Allen Odell Collins, 80, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Collins was an avid gardener and a great husband and father. He was the son of the late Harvey and Millie Collins and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Osie and Jessie Mae House Evans. He was a radar man on the USS Oriskany with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and attended Davids Home Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jo Nell Collins; daughters, Tammy (Ronnie) Atkinson and Tracy Collins; a very special godson, Sam Cleghorne and his family; granddaughter, McKayla Collins; and his four legged friends, Dot and Gus.
Funeral services will be Monday July 6, at 3 p.m., at Lord & Stephens, Danielsville Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Conwell officiating. The interment will be in Meadow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Cleghorne, Wayne Collins, Roger Collins, Lamar Evans, Stanley Dove, and Steve Booth.
