HELENWOOD, TENN. – Reeda Jeffers Norris, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior in heaven on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She took great delight in listening to songs of praise for her heavenly Father and shared the good news of His love with everyone she could. She had been living in Jefferson for the last 12 years near her four daughters due to poor health. She was born December 8, 1916, to the late Harrison Springer and Flora Linda Byrd Jeffers of the Straight Fork community. She was a member of the Low Gap Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Lee Norris; one son Lloyd Lee Norris; four grandchildren, Rondy Lee Sexton, Regina Eileen Norris, Reeda Michele Lance and Bradley Scott Norris; brothers, Oda, Ora, Olando, Bobby, Ronda, and Walter Jeffers; sister, Edith Lay; and daughters-in-law Loretta Norris and Diane Norris,
Survivors include five sons, Ondus Earldon Norris, Jamestown Tenn., James Harrison (JH) Norris, Jefferson, Charles Henry Norris, Jefferson, Lester Wayne Norris and wife Sheila, Helenwood, Tenn., and Lowell Elliott Norris, Monroe; four daughters, Virginia Faye Styles and husband Reese, Cumming, Linda Lou Jefferson and husband Joe, Jefferson, Kathleen Bartlett, Cumming, and Sandra Kay Kidd, Jefferson; brother and sisters, Ova Jeffers, Erma Silcox and Janetta Lawson, all of Straight Fork, Tenn.; 84 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends.
Friends may visit with the Norris family on Friday, October 19, from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bros. Carlie Duncan and Ricky Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in the Carson Memorial Park. Music will be provided by the Mason family and Nance Murley.
