BELTON, S.C. – Doris Julia Whitlock, 91, widow of James A. Whitlock, died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Jefferson, she was the daughter of the late Jiles Santford and Bertha Rea Standridge Bentley. She was a homemaker and graduated from Martin Institute in Jefferson. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she taught the Fidelis Sunday School class and the training union.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra (David) Ledbetter, Greenville, S.C., Vivian (Rusty) Robinson, Rock Hill, S.C., and Beverly O’Rourke, York, S.C.; brother, Charles E. Bentley, Winder; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, at 3 p.m., at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Wofford and Rev. Dr. Billy Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
