DANIELSVILLE – Irene Henderson Davis, 94, died Monday, November 2, 2015.
Born in Randolph County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late James Guy and Janie Brinnis Wright. A resident of Danielsville since 1957, Mrs. Davis was an active member of Bluestone Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She worked for many years at Essie’s Café and at Strickland’s. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cosby Henderson; her second husband, Gilford Davis; one son, Posey Michael Henderson; and one grandson, Posey Michael Henderson.
Survivors include her children, Janice Reaves Smith, Danielsville, and Jack L. Henderson, Nicholson; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Mrs. Davis’ life will be held Thursday, November 5, at 11 a.m., at Bluestone Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis’ grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bluestone Baptist Church Deacons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, at the funeral home.
