JEFFERSON – Don Joseph Fife, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Tuesday, December 2, 2015.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann Joy Fife; sisters, Zona Bingham, Beth Kenley, Rita Colunga, and Karen King, all of Utah; children, Anita ( Jerry) Kougioulis, Sugarhill, Ga., Joe (Vicki) Fife, Hoschton, and Donna (Tony) Simmons, London, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua and Michael Kougioulis, Jessica and Katie Fife, Ashton Roberts, Brandon Simmons, and Kelly Simmons; step-grandchildren, Justin and Andy Simmons; great-grandchildren, Emalee Kougioulis and Jordyn Cave; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Fife was born January 19, 1930, in Ogden, Utah. He was the oldest of five children born to Joseph Frederick Fife and Marian Ethel Johansen. He attended Weber State University and Brigham Young University, where he received his degree in business management. He served a church mission from 1950-53 in Denmark, after which he served in the United States Army Counter Intelligence Corp from 1953-1955 at Ft. McPherson, Ga. He and Joy were married June 17, 1955, in the LDS Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a sales executive for 26 years for Porter Paint Company in Atlanta, where he was the first company salesman for the Southeast area, eventually being named Zone Manger for the Industrial Coatings Division. He was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held multiple callings within the church including Bishop, Stake Presidency, High Council and as Sealer in the Atlanta Georgia Temple.
The family will receive friends at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens Snellville, Ga.
