CANON – Billy Paul Holcombe, 54, of Farm Road, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, S.C.
Mr. Holcombe was born in Elberton on February 14, 1961, the son of Aubrey Holcombe and Sue Dove Holcombe of Royston. He was a chemist having worked with Noramco/McNeil Specialty and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowman. Mr. Holcombe was a member of the UGA Alumni Association and the Emmanuel College Alumni Association. Mr. Holcombe was preceded in death by brothers, Stewart “Rabbit” Holcombe, Stacey Edward “Snake” Holcombe, and Lamar Dean Holcombe; grandparents, Alvin and Mamie Dove, Bert and Jewell Holcombe; and father-in-law, George Floyd.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Christy Floyd Holcombe, Canon; children, Lucas Paul Holcombe, Canon, Jessica Michele Holcombe, Kennesaw, Kelsey Holcombe Osley and husband, Zeb Dean Osley, Danielsville, Anna MaryJean Holcombe, Canon; niece (raised in the home), Candi Stone-Ramsey, Buckhead; brother, Dale Holcombe, Royston; and mother-in-law, Jean Floyd, Canon.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowman with the Revs. Chris Pritchett, Bert Synan, John Todd, and Andy Huff officiating. Interment will follow in the Vanna United Methodist Church Cemetery in Royston. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. Mr. Holcombe will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The family is at the home.
