HOMER – Marlene Mealor Worley, 80, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
Born in Banks County on April 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Bertha Caudell Mealor. Mrs. Worley was retired from Ethicon and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking, sewing and most of all spending time with her family. She loved the Lord and enjoyed good gospel singing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chevis F. Worley; sisters, Eula Mae Cook and Shelby Jean Mote; brothers, Loran and Leroy Mealor; and grandson, Josh Worley.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Angie Worley and Cecil and Patti Worley, all of Homer; grandchildren and spouses, Bryson and Allison Worley, Gainesville, Jake and Shannon Worley, Toccoa, Brandon and Adrienne Worley, Jefferson, Dustin Worley, Homer, and Vicki Worley Payne and Dustin Payne, Baldwin; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Dill, Homer; brothers, Jarvis Mealor, Homer, and J.C. Mealor, Mt. Airy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 24, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with the Revs. Roy G. Rogers and Gene Todd officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, at the funeral home.
