DANIELSVILLE – Bobby Paul Sanders, 69, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016.
Born and raised in Danielsville on November 13, 1946, he was the son of the late Ralph Albert and Allene Higginbotham Sanders. Bobby was a 1964 graduate of Madison County High School, and a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War. In 2010, he retired from the Athens Clarke County Government after 33 years. Bobby had an avid love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing and shooting sporting clays, and he was a member of the Elbert County Gun Club. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bobby loved life and lived it to the fullest. He touched people’s lives just by being himself with his kind heart and gentle ways. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Sanders; and a niece, Donna S. Hendrix.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, June Nash Sanders; daughter, Dawn Sanders D’Apollonio (Joe); son, Robert Edward Sanders; brother, Edward Sanders (Faye); and grandchildren, Olivia Morgan D’Apollonio, Joseph Connor D’Apollonio, and Lilly Irene Sanders.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 27, at 11 a.m., at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, with the Rev. Charles “Buddy” Parrish officiating. Pallbearers will be Kelly Paul, Jr., Keith Paul, Joe D’Apollonio, Rob Sanders, Kyle Hendrix and Ty Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Crook, Bobby Brown, Roger Smith, Ken Majors, and Kelly Paul, Sr. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, at the funeral home.
