Mary Wade (01-30-16)

Mary Anglin Chandler Wade, age 84, died Saturday, January 30, 2016, at her sister Alice’s home, where she was taking care of her during her last days.

Ms. Wade was a native of Commerce, but spent most of her life in the Atlanta metro area. She worked for Sears and Roebuck for many years as a switchboard operator. She loved her precious friends in the apartment community where she lived prior to her health declining. She loved each and every one of them dearly and would often speak of her friend, Marlene Wood and say, “Marlene is my guardian angel.” Ms. Wade also had such a wonderful friendship with Angie Hooper, which was not only her banker, but was always there for her checking on her and doing whatever Angie could for her.

Ms. Wade was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Susie Anglin; her children’s father, Malcom Chandler; sisters, Martha Kolen, Pat Holt, Sue Hill, Freda Baxter, and Nance Hill Roberts; brother, Jimmy Anglin; sons, Larry and Jerry Chandler; and daughter, Janet Howard.

Survivors include daughters, Wanda Pugh and Myra Ward (Bob); sister, Alice Whitener (Dan); a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 6, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the services.

Wanda and Myra want to say a big “Thank You” to the ladies that were always so good to their mother. Ms. Wade will be solely missed by family and friends.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
