AUBURN – Clinton Chavis, 86, passed away on Saturday, April, 16, 2016.
He was native of Orangeburg, S.C. He was a steel worker and a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Chavis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ollie Lewis Chavis; and his wife, Kay Chavis.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie (Debbie) Chavis, Auburn, Don (Janie) Chavis, Auburn, and Max (Selena) Chavis, Niceville, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Tamie (Donny) Thomas, Townsville, S.C.; grandchildren, Robert and Lisa Chavis, Amanda Everett, Katie and Sebo May, Matthew, Chris, Taylor, Jessica and Holly Chavis; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Everett, Lilly Chavis, Kaylynn May, and Thomsen Chavis.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday, April 18, from 2 to 4 pm. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Auburn with the Rev. Sammy Everett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
