COLBERT – Jack N. McClellan, 83, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Born in Commerce, he was the son of the late James McClellan and Clyde Short McClellan. Mr. McClellan was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force, where he served in the Korean Conflict. He spent 18 months in Guam, and assisted in the construction of the air strip at Anderson Air Force Base. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he became an electrician by trade and worked for Reliance Electric for 22 years. Mr. McClellan was preceded in death by two brothers, James McClellan and Roger McClellan; and one nephew, Ricky Burroughs.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rebecca Lamar McClellan; one daughter, Linda Carol McClellan; one sister, Sharon Burroughs; and one grand-dog, Abbagale Rose McClellan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, at 1 p.m., at Lord and Stephens, West, with the Rev. Kathy Brockman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jake Drake, Silas Kinley, Grant Simmons, Billy Seagraves, Larry Gabriel, and Keith Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony and Ashley Drake, John and Polly Simmons, Judy and Wayne Craig, David Drake, Bill McClure, Chris Boswell, Clay Parsons, Harry Smith, Dennis Burroughs, Jack Malaier, Melvin Baskins, and Ralph Sheridan. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
