DANIELSVILLE – Velma Chandler Ledbetter, 104, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Northridge Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Commerce, the daughter of the late Hope and Harriet Lou Tishie Chandler. She was the oldest member of Hudson River Baptist Church. She was retired from the textile industry and was a retired farmer. Mrs. Ledbetter was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ledbetter; and son, George Hope Ledbetter.
Survivors include her daughter, Ester Wilson, Commerce; daughter-in-law, Carmen Mezzacappa, South Carolina; grandson, Phillip Wilson (Leslie), Commerce; and great-granddaughter, Braylee Hope Wilson, Commerce.
Graveside services will be held Friday, April 29, at 3:30 p.m., at Hudson River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
