JEFFERSON – Virginia Jordan Nix, 75, entered into rest Monday, June 13, 2016.
Mrs. Nix was born in East Point, Ga., the daughter of the late John S. and Lucille Milligan Jordan. Mrs. Nix was retired from the Jefferson City School System, and was a member of the New Beginnings Outreach Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Ronald Nix; brother, Jerry Jordan; and grandchildren, Timothy Scott Nix and Jamie Lynn.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Michael Nix and his wife Carol Ann, Jefferson; daughters; Connie Nix Lynn and her husband Mike, Jefferson, and Kimberly Nix Cowart and her husband Ellis, Macon; three brothers, Billy Jordan, Hampton, Jimmy Jordan, Conyers, and John Jordan, Jr., Atlanta.; four grandchildren, Ashley Nix Wells, Anna Marie Nix, Dennis Taylor Maddox, and Haleigh Danyelle Maddox; and four great-grandchildren, Carly Nix, Lilly Grace Wells, Jasper Lynn, and Milo Lynn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 16, from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Norris officiating with burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
