Barry Williams, 71, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013.
Mr. Williams, a native of Liverpool England, was the son of the late Evan Cadwal and Muriel Starkey Williams of Athens. He moved to the United States 51 years ago with his parents to be closer to his late sister, Cynthia Dickson. Mr. Williams served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later obtained his U.S. Citizenship, alongside his parents and sister. He was proud to be an American. He was well known as the owner of Colbert TV and had many friends in Madison County.
Survivors include a brother, Trevor Williams, Victoria, Australia; brother-in-law, Jack H. Dickson, Watkinsville; nephews and nieces, Jeff Dickson, Gail Dickson Belden, Russ Dickson, Yvonne Dixon, Greg Dickson, Carol Williams Vincent, Tracy Williams, and Gary Williams; and cousin, Muriel Currie.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 18, at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST. Interment was at Athens Memory Gardens.
