LULA – Hayward Vandiver McGee, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Northridge Medical Center.
Born on September 26, 1927, in Asheville, N.C., he was the son of the late Ransom Vandiver and Fleecie Ussery McGee. Mr. McGee was formerly employed with Southeastern Highway Contractors as a heavy equipment mechanic and was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. McGee was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ann Keerse McGee; daughter, Terenna “Tinker” Watkins; brothers, John William McGee and Frank Curtis McGee; and sisters, Mary Brown, JoNell Gill, Alma Louise McGee.
Survivors include sons, James R. McGee and Johnny McGee, Carnesville; son-in-law, John Watkins, Lula; sister, Carol Jean Davis, Toccoa; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, November 29, at Westview Cemetery in Lula with the Rev. John Umberhant officiating.
