WINTERVILLE – Ronald Otis Hamby, 65, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012.
A native of Athens, he was the son of Jewell Lindsay Hamby and the late Carlos Clifton (Cliff) Hamby, Sr. He graduated from Athens High School and was a Mason. Mr. Hamby was employed in the grocery industry for many years before starting his own bail bonding business, Classic City Bonding and Services. He was a member of the Georgia Professional Bondsman Association and the Professional Bail Agents of the US. He co-founded the Food Bank of NE Georgia with Ed Ralph. Mr. Hamby was a member of the Young Harris United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Tracy Hamby, Winterville; stepson, Jeffery Miller, Winterville; daughters, Kim Ingram and husband, Jim, Watkinsville, and Holly Green and husband, Chris, Bogart; and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Revs. Troy Tatum and Ed Ralph officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the funeral home.
