Okie Phillips (07-03-12)

COMMERCE – Okie Talmadge Phillips, 92, died Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Banks County, the son of the late Joe Talmadge and Tempie Mae Hembree Phillips. He was a member of Nicholson Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church and was an automobile mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Marie Gipson Phillips, Commerce; daughter, Ruby Heaton, Danielsville; sister, Mary Ann Loggins, Statham; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, July 5, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
