JEFFERSON – Dorothy Dodd Hensley, 80, entered into rest Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
She was born in Forsyth County Georgia, the daughter of the late Albert Lee and Nimia Motes Dodd. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a longtime owner of Dot Hensley’s Florist in Jefferson for over 50 years. Mrs. Hensley was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Hensley; a beloved grandson, Joseph Hensley; sister, Hazel King; and brothers, J.R. and A.L. Dodd.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Hensley, Jefferson, and Steve Hensley and wife Valerie, Pittsburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Jason Hensley, Holly Purcell, Stephanie Miller, Cole Hensley, and Mark Hensley; great-grandchildren, Jakson and Austin Hensley, Lilly and Landon Purcell, and Daniel Miller.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 12, at 11 a.m., from Faith Baptist Church, 2081 Hwy. 129 North, Jefferson, with Dr. Keith Cudd officiating. Burial will be in Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Jack Duke, Tim Land, Todd Bramlett, Davit Motes, David Duke, and Robert Motes.
