DANIELSVILLE – Betty Jean Mathis, 77, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Mathis was born in Commerce, the daughter of the late William Guy and Ruby Smith Benton. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and was employed at Quality Foods.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Mathis, Danielsville; sons, Mike Mathis, Commerce, and Ricky Mathis, Maysville; brother, Steve Benton, Homer; sisters, Juanita Brice, Hiawassee, Carolyn Gay, Darien, and Elaine Beck, Commerce; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 22, at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Interment was in Blacks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
