Betty Lou Stephens (01-02-14)

PENDERGRASS – Betty Lou Voyles Lee Stephens, 74, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014.

She was born in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Horace Crawford and Eva Irvin Voyles of Apple Valley Community of Commerce. Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker, a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church, and the Golden Nugget Sunday School Class. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Junior Lee and Clarence Stephens; and two brothers, Billy Voyles and Lewis “Buck” Voyles.

Survivors in addition to her mother include children, Lewis (Diane) Lee, Jefferson, Missy (Paul) Mashburn, Cumming, Kenneth (Trang) Lee, Pendergrass, Joyce (Leroy) Vandiver, Gainesville, Adam (Jamie) Lee, Gainesville, Sam (Lisa) Lee, Commerce, Paul (Denise) Lee, Cornelia; brothers and sisters, Bobby Voyles, Mary Lee, Geraldine Brooks, Harold Voyles, Steve Voyles, and Elbert Voyles; 18 grandchildren; several great-grand-children; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday January 5, at 2 p.m. at Pond Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. Mrs. Stephens will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday January 4, at Evans Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.
