CORNELIA – Albert Wesley Gary, 82, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014.
He was born on December 28, 1931, in Jackson County, the son of the late Andrew Webb and Sallie Epps Gary. He was preceded in death by brothers, William Vann Gary, Alfred Gary, Theo Gary, and Willie Gary; and sisters, Mazelle Davis, Marjorie Chambers, Molene Anderson, and Mary Ann Dalton. Mr. Gary was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a retired owner and operator of Gary’s Plumbing and Electric, with 55 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Edna Dalton Gary, Cornelia; daughter, Brenda Jean Gary, Cornelia; son, Kenneth Wesley Gary, Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Albert Bradley and Bea Gary, Clarkesville; sister, Sallie Belle Wilson, Murrayville; grandson; Nathan Gary; grandson and spouse, Shannon and Lori Gary; granddaughter, Stephanie Gary; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Gary and Cole Gary.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Revs. Kenneth McEntire and Russ Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Anthony Lawrence officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, and 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at the funeral home.
