COMMERCE – Clarence Everett Franklin, 80, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012.
Mr. Franklin was born in Duluth, the son of the late A.G. and Geneva May “Lucy” Chatham Franklin. He was a machinist for Kraft Foods and was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church. Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Franklin and sisters, Geneva Gazaway, Dorothy Brewer and Mary Ann Masters.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Irene Eubanks Franklin, Commerce; children, Glenn and Nell Franklin, Loganville, Edith and Gibson Wages, Dacula, Jane Franklin, Marietta, and Charles Franklin, Commerce; sister, Faye Franklin, Lawrenceville; brothers, Jack Franklin, Lawrenceville, and Ronnie Franklin, Auburn; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, July 19, 2012 in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Chad Payne and Dugar Strickland officiating. The burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth. Alex Franklin, Curtis Franklin, Eddie Smith, Jeremy Self, Jamie Wilkerson and John Stringer are honored as pallbearers.
The visitation will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
