PENDERGRASS – Agnes M. Black Underwood, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
Mrs. Underwood was born in Clarke County, the daughter of the late George and Lucille Brown Elrod Black. She was a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church for 75 years, and was retired from Katherine’s Kitchen after 25 years of service. Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Black.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Henry Underwood, Pendergrass; daughter, Pamela (Jamie) Fowler, Jefferson; sons, Steve (Judy) Underwood, Jefferson, and Donald “Duck” (Vickie) Underwood. Pendergrass; sister, Robbie Black Reynolds, Pendergrass; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, at 2 p.m., in the Pendergrass Baptist Church with the Revs. Calvin Chatham and Dwayne Majors officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery with Joe McMullan, Matt Underwood, Don Cole, Jim Love, Andrew Fowler, and Shannon Underwood honored as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday January 31, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home.
