HULL – Cole Bowen, 65, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late William Vernon Bowen Sr. and Fannie May Massey Bowen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Cavin Bowen.
Survivors include children, Debbie Meline Ray, Nicholson, Martha Ann Black, Alto, and Melinda Bowen, Alabama; siblings, Frank Bowen, South Carolina, Jack Bowen, Hull, Frances Trotter, Royston, Juanita Swain, Homer, Margaret Kitchens, Commerce, Marie Canaday, Commerce, Evelyn Meadows, Athens, Dolly Dalton, Royston, and Ethel Brock, Danielsville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, at 1:30 from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Pass officiating, after which the body will be cremated and the cremains interred in Kannapolis, N.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
