JEFFERSON – Hazel Davis Smith, 77, entered into rest on Monday, April 14, 2014.
Mrs. Smith was born in Jefferson, the daughter of the late Claude B. and Novie Turpin Davis. Mrs. Smith was a member of Faith Baptist Church, and retired from the textile industry and the restaurant business. Hazel was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Davis and Ed Davis; and two sisters, Dot Pittman and Eva Edwards.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Richard Smith and Tommy and Debbie Smith, all of Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Vince Patten, Cumming; sisters, Roberta Wood and Claudia Chastain, both of Jefferson; brother, John Davis, Danielsville; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral home with the Rev. Richard Hoard officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery with Jonathan Stancil, Jason Black, Jimmy Chastain, Jason Chastain, Bradley Wood, Dale Wood, and Blake Ledbetter honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
