COMMERCE – Theron Harold Stancil, 80, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Thursday, May 29, 2014.
He was the son of the late Harold and Myrtie Lou Davis Stancil. He was retired from the FAA, where he was the Budget Director. He served in the United States Army and the reserves. Mr. Stancil was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Clark Stancil.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sims Stancil, Commerce; two sons, Theron Stancil Jr. and Meredith Rubel Stancil, Marietta, and David (Denise) Stancil, Acworth; a daughter, Susan Stancil, Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Billy Stancil, Macon; two sisters, Jane Roberts, Covington, and Ann Brown, Commerce; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, at 3 p.m. from the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Allen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Frist Baptist Church Capitol Improvement Fund or the Mended Hearts Association Chapter #171.
