WINDER – Annie Burpee, 94, died Monday, June 30, 2014.
A native of Walton County, Mrs. Burpee was the daughter of the late Dess and Quillie Julia Cheatham McElhannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Burpee; and a son, Burness Sims. Mrs. Burpee was a member of Hebron Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Reta Sims (Harry) Thomas; two sisters, Sara Steed and Claudia Mae Sims; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, at 11 a.m. at Hebron Christian Church. The Revs. Harold Tapp and Gordon Griffen will officiate. Burial will follow at Midway Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and Thursday at the church from 10 to 11 a.m.
