LULA – Beulah Mae Shook Shaw, 72 passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Rabun County on February 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clifford McKinley Shook and Myrtle Marie Smith Shook. Mrs. Shaw was a homemaker and kept children in her home for many years. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and many others as “Mae Mae.” Mrs. Shaw was a member of Alto Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William Merlin Shaw; and brothers, James Shook and Albert Shook.
Survivors include children, Ricky C. (LaDon) Shaw, Baldwin, Donald Eugene Shaw, Alto, Angela Victoria (Stacey) Hubbard, Homer, and Keith (Brenda) Shaw, Clarkesville; sisters, Betty Roberts, Idalee Gragg, both of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, and Patricia Chastain, Mt. Airy; brothers, Jerry Shook, Alto, and Lamar Shook, Demorest; grandchildren, Eric (Hannah) Shaw, Amber Shaw, all of Clarkesville, Asa Hubbard and Ean Hubbard, both of Homer; one very loved great-grandchild on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Alto Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Payne and Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Baldwin City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, and again from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
