HOMER – James “Jamie” Carlton Jarrell III, 51, passed away Tuesday, Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
Born in Stephens County on June 1, 1963, he was the son of James Carlton Jarrell, Jr. of Clarkesville and the late Nancy Sisk Miller. Mr. Jarrell served his country proudly in the United States Army and was currently a project manager with Advantage Industrial Systems. Jamie was an avid fisherman, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed supporting his children in their sports activities with Lacey and Daniel both playing soccer as well as Daniel playing football.
Survivors in addition to his father, include his loving wife of 25 years, Virginia “Ginny” Daniel Jarrell, Homer; a daughter, Lacey Jarrell, Homer; son, Daniel Jarrell, Homer; brother, Tommy Jarrell, Eastanollee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Libby (Charles) Caudell, Martin, Deborah (Hugh) Isbell, Eastanollee, and Peggy (David) Cheek, Smyrna; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David (Catherine) Daniel, Maysville, Richard (Angie) Daniel, Lula, Don (Cynthia) Daniel, Homer, and Mark Daniel, Suwanee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Andrea (Randall) Sims, Dacula, Mary (Joe) Strickland, Cornelia, and Martha (Bret) Slack, Norcross; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Mangum will officiate. Mr. Jarrell’s wishes were to be cremated following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 5, from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, an educational fund has been established at the United Community Bank of Cornelia for Jamie’s children, Lacey and Daniel Jarrell, P.O. Box 428 Cornelia, GA 30531.
