WINDER – Joyce Ann Hightower, 72, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014.
She was a member of Hope Baptist Church. She served in the United States Army as an office manager for Instrument Care Unlimited. Mrs. Hightower was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Gilchrest and Stella Taylor Scales.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Hightower, Winder; two sons, Jerry Hightower, Jr. (Stacey), Aubry, Texas, and James Hightower (Kim), Statham; daughter, Jennifer Joyner (David), Sylacauga, Ala.; two brothers, Albert Scales, Hiram, and Jimmy Scales, Woodland, Ala.; three sisters, Patricia Driskell, Winder, Linda Carlisle, Ila, and Brenda Berky, Fleetwood, Pa.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 30, at 2 p.m., at Barrow Memorial Gardens with Pastor Steven Smallwood officiating.
