COMER – Peter Kay Jackson, 84, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014. His wife, Betty Jean Jackson, 80, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Peter was the son of the late Robert K. Jackson and Maybelle McCallum Jackson. He was an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. Peter and Betty met during their time in the United States Air Force and were married for 60 years.
Betty was born in Cumberland, Md., the daughter of the late Norman Hays Bishop and Aldah Naomi Munson Bishop. She served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, was a homemaker, and had worked at the North East Georgia Livestock Auction Barn.
Peter and Betty are survived by two sons, Sam Jackson, Colbert, and Frank Jackson, Sanborn, Minn.; and four grandchildren. Peter is additionally survived by brothers, Leonard Jackson and David Dennis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville.
