BALDWIN – Eli Simmons, 21, passed away on Wednesday July, 30, 2014, in Dawson County, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Simmons was born on March 5, 1993, in Demorest, the son of Kenneth Simmons, Baldwin and the late Penny Rebecca Simmons. A sister, Kristen Rose Simmons, preceded him in death. Mr. Simmons was of the Baptist denomination and was self-employed in the home construction industry.
Survivors in addition to his father include a sister, Erin Rebekah Simmons, Baldwin; brother, Branson Simmons, Athens; grandmother, Emily Simmons, Alto; aunt, Karen Pope; Jefferson; uncle, Wendell Simmons, Alto; nephew, Jay Mealor, Baldwin; and nieces, Paisley Mealor, Baldwin, and Makya Adams, Baldwin.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 1.
