JEFFERSON – L.W. Thompson, 81, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
Mr. Thompson was born in Atlanta, the son of the late William Robert Thompson and Claudia Pauline Bullock Thompson. He graduated from Georgia State University and was an insurance agent for 42 years. He was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church in Jefferson, and worked part-time for the American Red Cross and Tom M. Wages Funeral Service. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army and loved fishing, watching old movies, and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Ann Thompson, Jefferson; daughters and sons-in-laws, Angie and Curt Rewis, Villa Rica, Tammy and Jerry O’Carroll, Statham, and Rene and Don Quint, Athens; grandchildren, Laura, Sean, Shannon, Syd, Josh, Andrew, and Matthew.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Michael Kimberly and Cecil Campbell officiating. The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home prior to the service. The entombment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Eternal Hills Cemetery in Snellville, with Sean O’Carroll, Josh Rewis, Andrew Quint, Don Quint, Matthew Quint, Jerry O’Carrol and Curt Rewis honored as pallbearers.
