GAINESVILLE – Betty Jean Martin, 77, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, surrounded by family, at her residence.
Ms. Martin was born August 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Curtis T. and Edna Truelove in Gainesville. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, owner and operator of Betty’s Boutique, and retired from Publix, where she had been a cashier. Ms. Martin was preceded in death by a son, Rusty Henry Jones; sister, Linda Faye Truelove; and brother, Charles Jerry Truelove.
Survivors include a son, Lonnie C. Jones, Pendergrass; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Mike Harper, Gainesville, and Janie and Lynn Wood, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Marsha Jones, Gainesville; daughter, Carol Elaine Croy, Buford; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Williams, Buford, Mary Bennet, Daytona Beach, Fla., and Cathy Truelove, Decatur; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Jim Abee, Palm Coast, Fla.; brother, Curtis E. Truelove, Warrensburg, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Nancy Truelove, Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 26, in the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The Revs. Charles Jenkins and Raymond Latty will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 25, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
