COMMERCE – Bettie Callaway Harden, 80, died on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Mary Elizabeth Callaway. Bettie graduated from Brenau College, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She and her family were active members of Commerce Presbyterian Church for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Willis Neal Harden, Jr., Commerce; daughter, Susan (Brian) Banister, Athens; sons, Neal (Carolyn) Harden, Athens, Preston Harden, Commerce, and Tom (Bridget) Harden, Commerce; brother, William Edward Callaway, Marietta; and much-loved grandchildren, Brian and Mary Banister and Thomas and Will Harden.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, September 23, at Commerce Presbyterian Church.
