MT. AIRY – Annette Davenport DeMore, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Mrs. DeMore was born on February 18, 1942 in Commerce to the late John and Nellie Mae Evans Davenport.
She was a graduate of Banks County High School and attended Piedmont College. She was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church, and a member of BMW and WMU. She was the former G.A. director at her church, and was active in her church Tape Ministry and a Bible School worker. She was also the director of The Bereavement Food Ministry. She is preceded in death by her parents, and stepfather, Gus Turpin.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Dr. Larry DeMore, Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Joe Tompkins, Covington, Jennifer and Matthew Smith, Mt. Airy; sister, Janice Turpin, Royston; grandchildren, Michelle and Victoria Tompkins; triplets Ellie, Evan and Charlotte Smith.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Trent Smith, the Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Tom Childress officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest.
