William Sorrells Sr. (12-06-14)

TALMO – William Donald Sorrells, Sr., 79 of Talmo, entered into rest Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Mr. Sorrells was born in Pendergrass, the son of the late Ernest Thomas Sorrells and Ruby Culpepper Sorrells. He was retired from Continental Grain Company and a former member of the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Sorrells was a member of Talmo Baptist Church, a Deacon Emeritus, and was gifted with a high tenor voice, which placed him in high demand to sing at numerous weddings and funerals throughout Northeast Georgia. He was preceded in death by a brother, J.P. Sorrells; and three sisters, Bobbie Nunnally, Mary Tanner, and Helen Riley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary N. Sosebee Sorrells, Talmo; a son, Don Sorrells and his wife Donna; and grandchildren, Trey, Peyton and Meghan, all of Talmo; daughter, Deanne McIntyre and her husband Chad; and grandchildren, Sydney and Reece, all of Buford.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, in the Talmo Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Spence, Paul Wade and Charles Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Russell Crow, Trey Sorrells, Kyle Daniels, B.J. Sosebee, Jace Latty, Tommy Lively, Reece McIntyre, and Rick Parks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 8, from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Talmo Baptist Church Music Department, 425 Main Street, Talmo, Georgia 30575.
