MAYSVILLE – Bobby Jewel “PeeWee” Garrison, 81 entered into rest Monday, April 21, 2014.
Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Ralph and Rosa Lou Highfill Garrison. He was a lifelong member of Oconee Baptist Church, a member of I.B.E.W., Tumbling Waters Society, retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 32 years, and was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War. PeeWee, as he was affectionately known by friends and family, was the Miller at the Hurricane Shoals Grist Mill for many years, where he would grind cornmeal for the many anxious customers during the annual Art in the Park festival. PeeWee was a master musician of many instruments, the fiddle being his first instrument. Music was a vital part of the Garrison family’s way of life and PeeWee passed on his love of music to his family, who now carry on the tradition. Pee Wee was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michella Rhea Garrison; and three brothers, James Lloyd Garrison, Paul Quillian Garrison, and Johnny Horace Garrison.
